My name is Matt Stewart and I’m a summer intern for Lynell, Kelly, and College App Wizard. I have known Lynell since the beginning of my senior year of high school, when I was in the stressful midst of my college search. I’m a rising senior at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, studying Public Health and Bioethics. Had I read that last sentence during my search, I would have been shocked because Hopkins wasn’t even on my radar until the final month leading up to the application deadline. Needless to say, the college admissions process was part painful, part satisfying, and an overdose of organized chaos, much like the rest of my life. My interests include, but certainly aren’t limited to, hip hop music, progressive politics, traveling the globe, staying in shape, and reversing all of that fitness by consuming what some may consider appalling quantities of food. I look forward to sharing the parts of my transition to college that actually went well, others that unfortunately did not, and everything in between throughout my years as an undergrad. I hope that you like reading “Tips, Trials & Tribulations of a Young College Wizard” as much as I enjoy writing it.
